Limited Editions...The Florida Masters Collection published seven of my images as limited edition prints several years ago and Warner Brothers acquired the entire set to adorn the walls of Cindy Crawford's on-screen apartment in the movie. FAIR GAME. I later published two others bringing the total number to nine. "Old Florida Trading Company", the first of my Country Store images, is among these prints.

The country store holds a special presence in our cultural past. Today, it is a symbol of simpler times. The original painting of the country store, "Old Florida Trading Company" is a part of the collection at the Museum of Florida Art and Culture, Sebring, Florida. BWms

Dinner on the Grounds“How wonderful were the old dinners on the grounds of the country churches, the baptizing, and the fellowship! While some of the churches had their new converts baptizing in white robes, most were simply baptized in their clothes. The water was clean and relatively--at least clean enough to see if there was an unwelcome intruder swimming around your ankles (not minnows, of course. There were always minnows but they didn’t count.) We did splash around a bit to discourage the ‘unrepentant creatures’ in the water as I recall.
My grandfather was ‘turned out of church’ for playing his fiddle at a Saturday night hoe down (dance). Thankfully, he was on good terms with his Lord when he was taken home some years later. I like to think of him playing his fiddle at a Heavenly Hoe Down with All of us in attendance!!!” BWms

Little sisters are waiting to take on the winners-two of them anyway; the baby trying to climb up on the citrus crate is practicing for the high hurdles. The whole scene shows life as it should be, families enjoying life TOGETHER. Even the chickens and hound dog pups seem contented. BWms

Pick'n A Winner
Coon Hound Pups for Sale is the story in this print of coon hunters getting down where the rubber meets the road--how many green backs it will take to buy the pick of the litter. The red Irish Setter doesn't seem to be too impressed with any of the little rascals. Please note old Maytag washing machine in the back yard and the Duz box on the back porch. They will get plenty of use when Mama has to wash all the hunting clothes after the hunt. No hunt is complete unless at least one skunk and one coon dog tangle. You can bet before this transaction is completed, the buyer will be sure of his success in "Pick'n A Winner". BWms
