Florida Water Prints...being a native Floridian, how could I possibly NOT have images of river and lake scenes of folks fishing, picnics on the riverbanks, and the like? I enjoy painting them and you will enjoy seeing them I think.
I will sign prints upon request. BWms

Florida Everglades, Forever
Print depicting the peace and serenity of a warm sunny day in the everglades. You can almost hear the quietness and feel the stillness. It just makes you feel good inside when you look at this scene. It will help to rev your motor down, I promise. BWms

The Swamp
Print of an honest to goodness Florida Swamp scene depicting the happiest looking Gator you ever saw. A must for anyone who likes Gators, Florida ones or otherwise!! He looks like he may have just "ingested" something (an Indian or Bulldog perhaps) that made him "lick his chops". You and everyone who sees him will love him. Well, maybe not EVERYONE!! BWms

Satisfied Florida Gator
Print of a very satisfied looking gator sunning himself in the cool Florida Swamp Water. Notice he has a smile on his face--the score must have been to his liking! The colors of the water, cypress trees, and foliage are just wonderful. The two egrets in the background add the finishing touch to a very peaceful and serene Florida scene. BWms

This is My Last Worm, Lord
Print depicting a man who needs a fish for his supper. The sun is going down and time is of the essence--no fish means grits and nuthin' for his last meal of the day and maybe even a tongue lashing from his wife. Note the old turned over tomato can in foreground that he had been using for his bait holder. The scenery around him is so beautiful, he should give that last worm it's freedom and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the evening. He can always crack a can of sardines for supper... BWms

Men Catching Gator Fleas
Print of men catching " gator fleas"--seriously, that is what they were called--to use for fish bait. One had to wade and move old logs and/or feel under them to capture these "creatures". I only went to the river once for this "wonderful experience" and I didn't even put my fingers in the water--much less under a log. To this day, my fish bait is bits of fried chicken skin--it smells good, doesn't wiggle, and I catch as many fish as anybody else!!! BWms

Take’n Granny Fish’n
Nothing would put a smile on the face of my Granny quicker than for someone to say, "Want to go fishing?" She would get up at the crack of dawn and gather up all kinds of things to eat, put it all in a dishpan, cover it, and commence to put on the worst looking garb you ever saw. My granddaddy always teased her about "re ragging" when she went to bed every night as she put on enough clothes for three people saying she wasn't going to let Jack Frost nip at her while she tried to sleep. She out did herself though, when she dressed to go fishing. She either wore a pair of men's pants (so mosquitoes and yellow flies couldn't bite her) and then put a dress on over them, or in the summer she didn't wear the men's trousers, but wore stockings that were rolled down below her knee and knotted. The epitomy of "tackiness"! (Ladies did not go out in public without wearing her stockings; she was quick to tell us.).
She had more patience with her fishing than anyone I ever knew. We'd have to start urging her to start gathering up her "stuff" way ahead of when we actually planned to leave, because she would invariably say, "Okay, we'll go in a minute-just let me catch one more." And if threatening weather were a fact of life, she would will it away by saying, "Oh, that cloud is going to blow around." My uncle, who had the utmost respect for thunder and lightning would simply say, "Yeah, it's going to blow around alright--all around our ears in about twenty or thirty minutes" and would, without further adieu, head em up and move'um out. No doubt the fish were grateful that Granny was no longer lurking on their bank.....BWms

Cooln' It in Tiger CreekYears ago while painting a recently purchased cabin at Lake Walk in the Water at Lake Wales, Florida, we decided to cool off by taking our boat down the canal and getting in the water where Tiger Creek emptied into the canal. The weather was hotter than blazes so the water felt even colder than normal--normal being cold enough to put goose pimples on your goose pimples. My youngest son, Kevin, was just starting to talk and when we got him out of boat and dipped him in the cold water, he clamored back into the boat in a Cincinnati second! My sister trying to entice him to get back in the creek with us said, "Don't you want to play in the water with Aunt Dissie?” to which he answered vehemently with one of his very first complete sentences, "No Ma'am!! Florida Gator Den ~ His and Hers
8 x 10 Print of a couple of Florida Swamp Gators just lolling around close to their dens. I'll bet you didn't know that Gators lolled, did you? Well, they do, and while they are basking in the Florida sun, they rehash the games, especially the last one when...so and so... should have done... thus an such..... If they can't agree, at least they can go to their respective dens and mutter to themselves. All us Gator fans can relate to that.
